ParticipantPublicOK — have been messing about with this thing for maybe a few months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I’d chuck my thoughts in since a lad on another thread asked me a few days back. I’m in the UK, mostly bet football and racing, nothing mad, for context.
The reason I started using it was actually embarrassing — I never could figure out what an each way payout actually was with 1/5 odds a place. I used to just guess and get a shock. Now I stick my stake in first, every time, even the boring singles.
Their single bet calculator is the part I’m on daily — type in stake and odds and it shows returns with no faffing, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. Same tool covers the bigger stuff — trebles returns, a lucky 15, a yankee, honestly that’s where I’d always lose track. If you want a look, it lives at implied probability and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
The thing that actually made a difference was the geekier extras. The odds-to-probability calculator that shows how much the bookie’s taking, and there’s the kelly criterion tool — I run quarter kelly since full stakes are terrifying. The dutching one gets used a fair bit when I’m spreading across selections.
It’s not perfect mind. Its layout feels a bit basic — not much frills, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. On mobile it’s usable though the acca grid make you pinch and zoom. And no proper app, it’s a website and that’s it — doesn’t bother me just flagging it.
Right, that’s me. Doesn’t cost anything, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. If you honestly adds it up in their head, give it a go — it’s saved me plenty of dumb bets I’d have regretted.
