So — been on this thing for something like a few months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I’d chuck my thoughts in since someone asked me the other day. Am in the UK, generally do football and horses, small stakes, just so you know where I’m coming from.
How I found it was honestly a bit daft — I couldn’t ever figure out what an ew payout actually came to when the place terms changed. I’d just wing it and get a shock. These days I type the odds in before I place anything, even a straight one-selection punt.
The single bet calculator is the bit I’m on daily — you put in your stake, the odds and it spits out profit and total return instantly, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. There’s also the fiddly ones — acca and treble maths, a lucky 15, a yankee, and that’s where most people I know mess it up. One thing that actually shifted things for me is the more serious bits. The probability calculator that shows how much the bookie’s taking, and a kelly criterion calculator — I use half kelly because full kelly is a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutching one is handy too when I’m splitting a race.
Couple of gripes. Its design is a bit basic — no flash, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. On mobile it’s usable though the acca grid need a bit of scrolling. And no proper app, it’s browser only — doesn’t bother me but worth saying.
Anyway. Doesn’t cost anything, barely any ads, does what it says. If anyone still does the maths on paper, have a look — it’s saved me plenty of “wait, that’s it?” moments.
