So — have been messing about with this thing for something like six months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so figured I’d say something since someone asked me last week. Am in the UK, generally do football and horses, small stakes, just so you know where I’m coming from.
What got me on it was genuinely embarrassing — I couldn’t ever figure out what an each way return would be with 1/5 odds a place. I’d just eyeball it and get a shock. These days I type the odds in before every slip, even a straight one-selection punt.
The single bet calculator tool is the part I open most — you put in stake and odds and you get the return instantly, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. Same tool covers the fiddly ones — trebles maths, lucky 15 and lucky 63, patents and yankees, which is where most people I know lose track. One thing that genuinely made a difference is the geekier bits. They’ve got an probability converter and it makes obvious the overround, plus a kelly calculator — I use half kelly because full kelly is far too aggressive. The dutching one gets used a fair bit if I’m covering two or three runners.
Couple of gripes. Its layout is a bit basic — no frills, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On my phone it’s fine but the bigger tables make you pinch and zoom. Also there’s no proper app, just the site — fine by me but worth saying.
Right, that’s me. Doesn’t cost anything, no ads shoved in your face, does what it says. If you even now adds it up in their head, have a look — it’s saved me a load of arguments with the bookie.
