ParticipantPublicSo — been using this thing for about a few months now and it’s stuck on my phone, reckon I’d chuck my thoughts in since a lad on another thread asked me last week. Am based in the UK, generally stick to footie and the horses, small stakes, just so you know where I’m coming from.
What got me on it was genuinely pretty stupid — I never could work out what an each way payout would be when the place terms changed. Basically I’d wing it and then be surprised. These days I stick my stake in first, every time, even the boring singles.
The single bet calculator is the part I’m on daily — you put in your stake, the odds and it spits out returns instantly, fractions or decimals. Same tool covers the multiples — acca and treble returns, lucky 15 and lucky 63, yankees, honestly that’s where I always lose track. Have a go yourself, it’s here ew bet calculator and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
One thing that genuinely shifted things for me were the geekier bits. They’ve got an implied probability calculator and it makes obvious what margin’s baked in, and there’s the kelly staking calculator — I run quarter kelly because full kelly is a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutch tool gets used a fair bit when I’m splitting a race.
Not all sunshine though. The interface is very functional, let’s say — no flash, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. Phone-wise it’s fine though the bigger tables need a bit of scrolling. Also there’s no app, it’s a website and that’s it — slight shame but worth saying.
Anyway. Costs nowt, barely any ads, works. If you honestly does the maths on paper, try it — saves me plenty of “wait, that’s it?” moments.
