Right — have been messing about with this thing for something like six months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I’d say something since someone asked me the other day. Am in the UK, mostly stick to footie and the horses, a fiver here and there, so take it how you like.

The reason I started using it was actually pretty stupid — I couldn’t ever figure out what an each way return actually came to when the place terms changed. I used to just guess and moan when the payout landed. Now I type the odds in first, every time, even a straight one-selection punt.

The single bet calculator tool is the part I use most — type in the price and your stake and it spits out returns straight away, either odds format. It also handles the fiddly ones — doubles and trebles returns, lucky 15 and lucky 63, yankees, and that’s where I’d always mess it up. Have a go yourself, it’s over at calculate each way bet and it’s free with no account nonsense.

What genuinely changed how I bet were the nerdier tools. There’s an implied probability converter and it makes obvious how much the bookie’s taking, and a kelly criterion calculator — I use half kelly because full kelly is a quick route to a dead bankroll. Dutching calculator is decent for when I’m covering two or three runners.

Couple of gripes. The design feels pretty plain — zero polish, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On my phone it’s usable though the bigger tables make you pinch and zoom. And nothing on the app store, it’s a website and that’s it — doesn’t bother me but worth saying.

Right, that’s me. Costs nowt, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. If anyone still adds it up in their head, have a look — saves me plenty of dumb bets I’d have regretted.
