So — have been messing about with this thing for about five months now and I keep coming back, so thought I’d say something since a mate asked me last week. Am UK based, generally do football and horses, nothing mad, so take it how you like.
What got me on it was genuinely embarrassing — I never could work out what an ew return would be with 1/5 odds a place. I’d just guess and moan when the payout landed. Now stick my stake in before I place anything, even a simple single bet.
The single bet calculator is the one I use most — type in your stake, the odds and it spits out returns straight away, fractions or decimals. Same tool covers the fiddly ones — trebles maths, lucky 15s, a yankee, and that’s where I’d always lose track. What really made a difference were the nerdier tools. They’ve got an odds-to-probability thing and it makes obvious how much the bookie’s taking, and there’s the kelly criterion tool — I stick to fractional kelly since full stakes are a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutching one gets used a fair bit for when I’m covering two or three runners.
Couple of gripes. Its design is pretty plain — zero flash, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On my phone it’s fine but the lucky 63 breakdown need a bit of scrolling. And nothing on the app store, just the site — fine by me but worth saying.
So yeah. Doesn’t cost anything, not plastered in adverts, works. Anyone who honestly adds it up in their head, give it a go — it’s saved me plenty of dumb bets I’d have regretted.
