Right — have been messing about with this thing for maybe six months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I’d say something since a mate asked me a few days back. Am based in the UK, mostly do football and horses, a fiver here and there, for context.
What got me on it was actually a bit daft — I couldn’t ever work out what an each way payout actually was with 1/5 odds a place. Basically I’d wing it and get a shock. Now I type the odds in before every slip, even a straight one-selection punt.
The single bet calculator tool is the part I open most — you drop in the price and your stake and it shows profit and total return with no faffing, either odds format. There’s also the fiddly ones — trebles returns, a lucky 15, yankees, which is where I’d always mess it up. One thing that genuinely changed how I bet were the geekier bits. The odds-to-probability calculator that shows what margin’s baked in, and there’s the kelly criterion tool — I use half kelly as the full version is a quick route to a dead bankroll. Dutching calculator gets used a fair bit for when I’m covering two or three runners.
Couple of gripes. Its interface is very functional, let’s say — no flash, it’s clearly function over form. Phone-wise it’s fine though the acca grid need a bit of scrolling. And nothing on the app store, it’s a website and that’s it — doesn’t bother me but you asked.
Anyway. Free, barely any ads, does what it says. Anyone who still adds it up in their head, try it — saved me plenty of arguments with the bookie.
