So — been using this thing for about a few months now and it’s stuck on my phone, reckon I’d write something up since a lad on another thread asked me last week. Am in the UK, mainly bet football and racing, small stakes, so take it how you like.
The reason I started using it was honestly embarrassing — I never could work out what an e/w payout actually came to once you get five places instead of three. I’d just eyeball it and then be surprised. These days I punch the numbers in first, every time, even the boring singles.
The single bet calculator is the one I’m on daily — you drop in stake and odds and it shows returns with no faffing, fractions or decimals. It also handles the bigger stuff — acca and treble returns, lucky 15 and lucky 63, a yankee, which is where most people I know got it wrong. One thing that actually shifted things for me were the nerdier extras. There’s an odds-to-probability calculator which shows you what margin’s baked in, and there’s the kelly criterion calculator — I run quarter kelly since full stakes are terrifying. The dutching one is decent when I’m splitting a race.
Couple of gripes. The design feels pretty plain — no polish, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On my phone it’s fine although the lucky 63 breakdown need a bit of scrolling. Also there’s no app, just the site — doesn’t bother me but you asked.
Right, that’s me. Doesn’t cost anything, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. If you honestly works out returns on a calculator app, have a look — saves me a fair few arguments with the bookie.
