Right — been on this thing for maybe a few months now and it’s stuck on my phone, so figured I’d say something since a mate asked me a few days back. I’m based in the UK, mostly stick to footie and the horses, nothing mad, just so you know where I’m coming from.
What got me on it was actually pretty stupid — I could never work out what an each way return actually was with 1/5 odds a place. Basically I’d wing it and then be surprised. These days I stick my stake in first, every time, even the boring singles.
Their single bet calculator tool is the bit I open most — you drop in your stake, the odds and it shows the return with no faffing, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. It also handles the multiples — trebles returns, lucky 15s, patents and yankees, which is where I always lose track. The thing that actually changed how I bet was the nerdier extras. They’ve got an probability calculator that shows how much the bookie’s taking, and a kelly criterion tool — I run quarter kelly because full kelly is a quick route to a dead bankroll. Dutching calculator gets used a fair bit for when I’m covering two or three runners.
Not all sunshine though. Its layout looks pretty plain — no frills, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On mobile it’s fine though the bigger tables make you pinch and zoom. And no proper app, it’s browser only — fine by me but worth saying.
Right, that’s me. Free, barely any ads, does the job. If you honestly works out returns on a calculator app, have a look — it’s saved me plenty of “wait, that’s it?” moments.
