Right — been on this thing for maybe six months now and I keep coming back, reckon I’d chuck my thoughts in since a mate asked me the other day. Am based in the UK, generally do football and horses, a fiver here and there, so take it how you like.
What got me on it was honestly pretty stupid — I couldn’t ever work out what an each way return actually was once you get five places instead of three. I used to just eyeball it and moan when the payout landed. Now I stick my stake in before every slip, even a simple single bet.
The single bet calculator is the part I open most — you put in the price and your stake and it shows profit and total return straight away, fractions or decimals. Same tool covers the bigger stuff — acca and treble maths, lucky 15s, a yankee, and that’s where most people I know got it wrong. The thing that actually changed how I bet were the geekier bits. There’s an implied probability thing and it makes obvious how much the bookie’s taking, and there’s the kelly calculator — I run quarter kelly since full stakes are far too aggressive. The dutch tool gets used a fair bit for when I’m covering two or three runners.
It’s not perfect mind. Its design looks pretty plain — no flash, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. On my phone it’s usable but the bigger tables are a squeeze. Also there’s nothing on the app store, just the site — slight shame but worth saying.
Anyway. Doesn’t cost anything, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. Anyone who still works out returns on a calculator app, try it — saves me plenty of “wait, that’s it?” moments.
