OK — have been messing about with this thing for something like five months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I’d write something up since a mate asked me last week. I’m UK based, mainly bet football and racing, small stakes, so take it how you like.
The reason I started using it was genuinely pretty stupid — I could never figure out what an ew payout actually came to with 1/5 odds a place. I’d just eyeball it and get a shock. These days I type the odds in first, every time, even a simple single bet.
The single bet calculator is the part I’m on daily — you drop in stake and odds and it spits out the return instantly, either odds format. There’s also the multiples — doubles and trebles maths, a lucky 15, patents and yankees, and that’s where I’d always got it wrong. One thing that genuinely shifted things for me were the nerdier extras. The implied probability thing and it makes obvious how much the bookie’s taking, and a kelly criterion calculator — I use half kelly since full stakes are a quick route to a dead bankroll. Dutching calculator is handy too when I’m splitting a race.
Not all sunshine though. The design feels pretty plain — not much flash, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. On my phone it’s usable although the bigger tables need a bit of scrolling. There’s nothing on the app store, just the site — fine by me just flagging it.
So yeah. Doesn’t cost anything, barely any ads, works. If you still does the maths on paper, try it — it’s saved me plenty of “wait, that’s it?” moments.
