ParticipantPublicSo — have been messing about with this thing for something like a few months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, reckon I’d say something since a mate asked me a few days back. I’m in the UK, mainly do football and horses, a fiver here and there, just so you know where I’m coming from.
How I found it was honestly pretty stupid — I couldn’t ever get my head round what an ew return actually was with 1/5 odds a place. I used to just wing it and then be surprised. These days I stick my stake in first, every time, even a straight one-selection punt.
Their single bet calculator tool is the bit I use most — you drop in stake and odds and it spits out the return with no faffing, fractions or decimals. It also handles the fiddly ones — acca and treble maths, lucky 15 and lucky 63, patents and yankees, honestly that’s where most people I know got it wrong. If you fancy a poke about, it lives at double accumulator and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
What really shifted things for me were the more serious tools. The implied probability thing that shows the overround, plus a kelly calculator — I use half kelly as the full version is terrifying. The dutch tool gets used a fair bit for when I’m covering two or three runners.
Couple of gripes. The interface looks very functional, let’s say — zero polish, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On mobile it’s fine although the bigger tables are a squeeze. And no app, it’s browser only — slight shame just flagging it.
Right, that’s me. Costs nowt, barely any ads, works. If anyone even now does the maths on paper, have a look — saved me a load of “wait, that’s it?” moments.
