So — have been messing about with this thing for about four months now and it’s stuck on my phone, so figured I’d chuck my thoughts in since a lad on another thread asked me a few days back. I’m based in the UK, mostly do football and horses, a fiver here and there, so take it how you like.
The reason I started using it was genuinely embarrassing — I couldn’t ever work out what an each way return actually came to with 1/5 odds a place. I’d just wing it and moan when the payout landed. Now I punch the numbers in first, every time, even the boring singles.
Their single bet calculator tool is the part I’m on daily — you drop in your stake, the odds and it shows profit and total return straight away, either odds format. There’s also the fiddly ones — doubles and trebles maths, lucky 15 and lucky 63, patents and yankees, which is where I always mess it up. The thing that really made a difference is the more serious tools. There’s an probability converter that shows what margin’s baked in, and there’s the kelly criterion tool — I run quarter kelly since full stakes are far too aggressive. Dutching calculator gets used a fair bit when I’m covering two or three runners.
Not all sunshine though. The layout is very functional, let’s say — no polish, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On my phone it’s fine but the acca grid are a squeeze. And nothing on the app store, it’s browser only — fine by me but worth saying.
Anyway. Costs nowt, not plastered in adverts, works. If anyone honestly does the maths on paper, give it a go — it’s saved me a fair few arguments with the bookie.
