ParticipantPublicSo — been using this thing for about six months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, reckon I’d write something up since a lad on another thread asked me a few days back. I’m UK based, mostly bet football and racing, nothing mad, just so you know where I’m coming from.
What got me on it was genuinely embarrassing — I never could work out what an each way payout would be once you get five places instead of three. Basically I’d guess and moan when the payout landed. Now I stick my stake in first, every time, even a straight one-selection punt.
Their single bet calculator tool is the part I open most — you put in your stake, the odds and it spits out returns straight away, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. Same tool covers the multiples — doubles and trebles returns, lucky 15 and lucky 63, patents and yankees, and that’s where most people I know mess it up. If you want a look, it lives at heinz calculator and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
What genuinely changed how I bet is the geekier extras. There’s an probability calculator that shows the overround, and a kelly staking tool — I run quarter kelly since full stakes are far too aggressive. The dutch tool gets used a fair bit if I’m covering two or three runners.
It’s not perfect mind. The interface looks very functional, let’s say — not much frills, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On my phone it’s fine although the lucky 63 breakdown need a bit of scrolling. And no proper app, it’s a website and that’s it — doesn’t bother me but worth saying.
Right, that’s me. Free, no ads shoved in your face, does the job. If anyone honestly adds it up in their head, give it a go — saved me a load of dumb bets I’d have regretted.
