OK — been on this thing for about six months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, reckon I’d write something up since someone asked me the other day. I’m based in the UK, mainly stick to footie and the horses, nothing mad, just so you know where I’m coming from.

What got me on it was actually embarrassing — I couldn’t ever get my head round what an each way payout would be with 1/5 odds a place. I’d just wing it and then be surprised. Now I stick my stake in first, every time, even a simple single bet.

Their single bet calculator is the part I use most — you drop in your stake, the odds and it shows the return instantly, fractions or decimals. There’s also the bigger stuff — trebles returns, lucky 15s, patents and yankees, which is where most people I know lose track. If you want a look, it’s over at each way bet calculator and it’s free with no account nonsense.

What actually shifted things for me were the geekier bits. There’s an odds-to-probability thing and it makes obvious the overround, and a kelly staking calculator — I use half kelly since full stakes are far too aggressive. The dutching one is handy too for when I’m splitting a race.

Couple of gripes. Its interface feels very functional, let’s say — zero polish, it’s clearly function over form. Phone-wise it works but the acca grid make you pinch and zoom. And no proper app, it’s browser only — slight shame but you asked.

Right, that’s me. Doesn’t cost anything, no ads shoved in your face, works. If anyone honestly does the maths on paper, give it a go — saved me a fair few dumb bets I’d have regretted.

Right — have been messing about with this thing for maybe a few months now and it’s stuck on my phone, so thought I’d say something since someone asked me the other day. I’m UK based, generally bet football and racing, nothing mad, for context.

What got me on it was actually embarrassing — I never could get my head round what an ew payout actually was with 1/5 odds a place. I’d just eyeball it and then be surprised. Now I stick my stake in before I place anything, even a straight one-selection punt.

The single bet calculator is the bit I use most — you drop in stake and odds and it shows returns with no faffing, fractions or decimals. It also handles the multiples — trebles maths, lucky 15 and lucky 63, a yankee, honestly that’s where I always got it wrong. Have a go yourself, it’s over at kelly criterion bet calculator — free, no signup.

What actually made a difference were the nerdier tools. There’s an implied probability thing that shows what margin’s baked in, and there’s the kelly criterion tool — I run quarter kelly as the full version is far too aggressive. Dutching calculator is decent when I’m covering two or three runners.

Couple of gripes. The design looks a bit basic — not much polish, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On mobile it works although the bigger tables are a squeeze. There’s no app, it’s a website and that’s it — doesn’t bother me but worth saying.

So yeah. Doesn’t cost anything, no ads shoved in your face, does the job. If anyone even now adds it up in their head, give it a go — saved me a load of “wait, that’s it?” moments.
