ParticipantPublicOK — have been messing about with this thing for about six months now and it’s stuck on my phone, reckon I’d write something up since someone asked me a few days back. Am based in the UK, mostly do football and horses, a fiver here and there, so take it how you like.
The reason I started using it was actually pretty stupid — I could never get my head round what an e/w payout actually was once you get five places instead of three. I used to just guess and moan when the payout landed. Now stick my stake in before every slip, even a straight one-selection punt.
The single bet calculator tool is the one I use most — you put in your stake, the odds and you get returns straight away, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. There’s also the multiples — doubles and trebles returns, a lucky 15, yankees, and that’s where I’d always got it wrong. If you fancy a poke about, it lives at super heinz flag calculator and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
The thing that actually shifted things for me is the nerdier tools. There’s an probability calculator and it makes obvious the overround, and there’s the kelly criterion tool — I stick to fractional kelly because full kelly is terrifying. The dutch tool gets used a fair bit when I’m spreading across selections.
Couple of gripes. Its layout is a bit basic — not much flash, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. Phone-wise it’s usable but the acca grid need a bit of scrolling. And no proper app, it’s browser only — doesn’t bother me just flagging it.
So yeah. Free, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. If you even now does the maths on paper, give it a go — saves me plenty of arguments with the bookie.
