So — been using this thing for maybe a few months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I’d say something since a lad on another thread asked me a few days back. I’m based in the UK, generally do football and horses, a fiver here and there, so take it how you like.
The reason I started using it was genuinely a bit daft — I never could figure out what an each way return actually came to when the place terms changed. I used to just eyeball it and then be surprised. These days I punch the numbers in before I place anything, even a simple single bet.
Their single bet calculator is the bit I use most — you drop in your stake, the odds and it shows the return with no faffing, either odds format. There’s also the fiddly ones — doubles and trebles maths, a lucky 15, patents and yankees, which is where I’d always mess it up. What really changed how I bet was the geekier tools. The probability calculator and it makes obvious how much the bookie’s taking, and a kelly criterion calculator — I run quarter kelly because full kelly is terrifying. The dutch tool is decent for when I’m spreading across selections.
Not all sunshine though. Its layout looks a bit basic — not much frills, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On my phone it’s fine but the bigger tables need a bit of scrolling. Also there’s nothing on the app store, it’s browser only — slight shame but you asked.
Anyway. Free, not plastered in adverts, does the job. If anyone honestly does the maths on paper, give it a go — it’s saved me plenty of “wait, that’s it?” moments.
