Decided to read more before commenting and the more I read the more I wanted to say something, and a stop at portolives pushed that impulse further, when content provokes the urge to participate rather than just consume it is doing something quite specific and worth recognising clearly when it happens during reading.

Honest reaction is that this is the kind of writing I would defend in a conversation about good blog content, and a look at portolives reinforced that, the rare site whose work I would actively recommend rather than just tolerate is the kind I want to support through return visits regularly.

Now thinking about whether the writer might publish a longer form work I would buy, and a look at portolives suggested the same depth would translate, content that makes me want to pay for related work in other formats is content that has earned commercial trust as well as attention trust and this site has both clearly.
